The facilities at Badby Road include a
large sports hall and changing facilities,
a sports injury clinic and weights room.
Students also have access to grass
football pitches and training areas,
all weather playing areas and fitness
centres as well as extensive facilities at
the Moulton College main campus.
In addition to the academic programme, students will benefit
from coaching sessions delivered by professional coaches.
These focus on developing physical and mental fitness,
technical abilities, tactical awareness, coaching skills and
game play.

What do I need?
Students require 4 GCSEs at grades A to C or BTEC
Level 2 Diploma or NVQ Level 2 or CYQ Diploma.
What will I study?
The Subsidiary Diploma is designed to appeal to learners
who are interested in the coaching and development aspects
of sport such as widening participation and increasing
opportunity, and covers key areas such as sports development,
fitness teaching and the health and safety of practical activities.
A range of study methods is used including visits, tutorials
and practical sessions. Students are encouraged to relate
theory to practice at all stages. Students undertake commercial
experience in the form of duties at one of the commercial
sports facilities on site.
Continuous assessment includes assignments, written and
practical tests and work experience.
What can I do next?
Students will progress to the Diploma (equivalent to two
A levels) or Extended Diploma (equivalent to three A levels) in
Sports Studies or alternatively, may seek employment within
the sports industry or professional sport.
